1. Sakinalu
Sakinalu is a special snack which is prepared in northern part of Telangana state during the season of Sankranti (mainly). Main ingredients used to prepare these are Rice flour, sesame seeds, oil. As we get new crop during Sankranti, we do celebrate the harvest season by preparing special dishes with rice or rice flour. Sakinalu is derived from root word 'Chakinamu' which meant 'Chakramu' which is the shape in which it is prepared. It is one of the Telangana Traditional Festival Cuisines.
2. Chekkalu/Billappalu
Billappalu are traditional snack of Telugu people. They are variation of Tamil Nadu 'Nipattu' and Karnataka 'Thattai'. These are prepared mainly during festivals like Sankranti, Dussehra or any occasion. These are made of rice flour, chana dal, sesame seeds and oil.
3. Ariselu/ Bellam Appalu
Arise is an Indian sweet with origin coming from Telugu states and Odisha. The main ingredients used are Rice flour, jaggery and ghee. Arise is called by different names in other states
Karnataka- Kajjaya
Maharashtra- Anasra
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh- Ariselu/ Bellappaalu
Bihar- Arsa/Anasra
Jharkhand- Arsa/Anasra
Taminadu- Adhirasam
