Hello people. Welcome back to Akshaya's Blogging world. Today is thursday and I'm back with a food post this week. I scream, you scream, we all scream for "Ice-cream". Yes, let us know some crazy facts about Ice Cream today. I wanted this post to be simple and short and I included top most crazy and unknown things about Ice-cream.

1. Origin of Ice-cream-

Back in 618-97 AD, in China, a dish similar to Ice-cream was made using buffalo milk, flour and camphor. In 200 BC, milk and rice mixture was frozen using snow for packing which is also similar to Ice-cream.

In Asia, Mughal emperors used relays of horsemen to bring ice from Hindu Kush to Delhi, where it was used in fruit sorbets, which were also similar to Ice-cream.

2.First flavour of Ice-cream-

According to some sources, King Charles (of England) would often present a sweet dish 'Cream Ice' during his feasts. He wanted to keep the recipe a royal secret, but it came into public when Grace Countess Granville (unidentified person) wrote the recipe with directions like adding orange flower water which indicates the very first flavour was 'Orange Blossom'.

3. Ice-cream fruit-

There is an Ice-cream fruit in Hawaii which tastes same as Vanilla Ice-cream. The name of the fruit is 'Inga feuillei' but people over there call it as Ice-cream bean.

4. Ice-cream month-

July is celebrated as National Ice-cream month in United States and 3rd sunday of July is celebrated as Ice-cream day. This announcement was made in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan.

5. Ice-cream diet-

This is the most craziest thing I've found out. There's also a Ice-cream diet which we can follow to lose weight and it is proven actually. This diet is based on the book written by Holly McCord in 2002. Wanna know more about this, Click here.
