Pani Puri

Hellooo People. Welcome back to Akshaya's Blogging World. Hope you all are doing good and yes I'm also doing good. Sooo, It's Thursday and my blog post day too. I came back with a food post today and it is "Pani Puri". I am really excited to share what I found about this mouth watering dish.

Origin of Pani Puri:

There are two different stories of Pani puri's invention.

1. Some people (like culinary anthropologists) quote that, Pani puri was invented by 'Draupadi ' in the Mahabharata to impress her mother in law 'Kunthi'. When the Pandavas, Draupadi and their mother Kunti were in exile after losing their kingdom in game of dice (Paachikalu), Kunti gave her daughter in law (Draupadi) a challenge to make food out of little amount of dough and left over aloo curry which should satisfy all the five brothers. That was the situation Drauapdi made small sized puris and stuffed aloo curry into it. It was believed to be pani puri.

I don't know to what extent the above story is true, all I can say is that, some people believe it to be true, it all depends on you to believe it or not.

Here's the second aspect of invention of Pani puri-

2. Food historians quoted that Pani puri was originated in India 100-125 years ago. They also noted that Pani puri was possibly originated from Raj-Kachori. Like Pani puri may be  modified form of Raj-Kachori.

Raj Kachori is called as king of all kachoris  because it is royal, rich and splendid dish. It is a spicy chaat bowl filled with delicious condiments.

Is Pani puri healthier:

It has both pros and cons.

Pros- because it helps in reducing mouth ulcers (which is a fact).

Cons- because puris are deep fried in oil which aren't that good to health. Also not recommended for diabetic patients.

Conclusion- It doesn't cause any harm when taken in limit like once/twice in a month.

Ok guys that's it for the day. Hope you liked the post.
