Maggiiii
Hellooo People. Welcome back to Akshaya's Blogging World. Today I came up with an interesting post about a food item which everyone loves I guess. Sooo, our topic for today is "World Famous Maggi". Let us know some unknown things about Maggi-
Founder of Maggi:
"Julius Maggi" is the one who invented Maggi. Maggi's existence is from 1872, in Switzerland when Julius Maggi took over his father's mill.
Origin of Maggi:
So, as 1872 is the time of Industrial Revolution, many women were sent to labor work and they were left with very little time to cook food. In order to solve this problem, Swiss Public Welfare Society asked Julius to create a food product which is rich in protein and can be cooked by adding vegetables in very less time, also should be digested easily. That's when Maggi was introduced in the Market.
Reason behind Ban of Maggi in India:
In May of 2015, the FSSAI reported that 'Maggi Noodles' contain high levels of MSG(Monosodium Glutamate) and also 17 times the permissible limit of lead. In June of 2015, the Central Government declared a nationwide ban on Maggi.
Although Nestle always insisted that their noodles are safe, but as per order of Central Government, the company had to recall stock worth of INR 320 Cr and paid around INR 20 Cr to Ambuja cement to burn the stock. It also paid a fine of INR 640 Cr (for the high MSG and lead level) to Corporate Affairs of Ministry.
However, In November of 2015, Maggi made a successful comeback to win the trust of the huge consumer market in India.
Maggi in India:
India is the only country where Maggi packets has a green dot (specially created to serve vegetarians). This formula is only available in India and not available in other countries, unless imported from India.
Is Maggi Healthier:
Yes, Maggi is healthier. But, as the noodles are made of Maida content, it is suggested to balance it with fiber food like vegetables. We can add vegetables to our Maggi to balance Maida content and make it healthier. It is also recommended that having Maggi once or twice in a month is good, but more than once in a week is not recommended as it may lead to higher chance of developing high BP, Obesity, Cholesterol. I repeat it has no effects when taken once/twice a month.
Ok Guys, that's it for the day. Hope you liked the post.
