Hello People. Welcome back go Akshaya's Blogging World. Today, I came up with an interesting food post. I think most of us like sweets and most of us like "Laddu" too. Yes, so today's post is on Laddu. Let us know some unknown things about Laddu..
Inventor/Founder of Laddu:
It can be quoted that Laddu's existence is from ancient times i.e. 4th century BC and 'Sushruta'- the Surgeon is the one who invented Laddu. He used spherical balls of sesame seeds as an antiseptic for his patients, from there onwards laddu gradually began taking shape as a sweet which we have come to know and love today.

The name Laddu is derived from a Sanskrit word 'Ladduka' ( which means a sweet).
Records:
Laddu has a world record i.e. The Largest Individual Laddu weighs 29,465 kilograms which was achieved by PVVS Mallikarjun Rao (India), in Tapeshwaram, Andhra Pradesh on 6 September 2016.

Tirupati Laddu:
Obviously my post is incomplete without Tirupati Laddu. The temple is offering Laddu as prasadam since August 2nd, 1715. It's great to know that it's been more than 300 years.

1.Asthanam Laddu
2.Kalyanotsavam Laddu
3.Proktham Laddu
One more unknown fact about laddu is 'Pink Laddu'.
Pink Laddu:
There is something in Laddu to do with gender roles. The Pink Laddu initiative is launched in UK on October 11th, 2015 to coincide with the International day of the girl child. The initiative aims to bring in a sense of equality when a new baby is born. They distribute pink laddus to celebrate birth of a girl child.

Last, but not the least. Gond Laddus are healthier as they provide warmth internally to the body during dipping temperatures. These laddus strengthen and nourish bone tissues as it is rich in calcium, magnesium and also delivers some protein.
